What is HOTEC Europe?

HOTEC Europe is a highly focused hotel industry forum for senior executives wishing to talk business in a more targeted fashion

The unique one-to-one meeting forum brings together purchasing, operations and technical directors of leading hotel chains, to meet by appointment with the industry's leading national and international supplier companies over three days.

HOTEC is regarded by the market leaders as the industry's premier event.

The first HOTEC forum was launched in 1998 in Europe and is now also established in Asia, Middle East and in North America.

Face to Face Meetings

HOTEC Europe 2006 will bring together international hotel chains and suppliers to participate in a series of face-to-face meetings over two dedicated business days. Over 2000 organised business meetings will be conducted. The most senior executives talk business, exchange views and network in a way that is simply not possible with traditional exhibitions and conferences.

Supplier Showcase

On the second day a one hour Supplier Showcase takes place in a separate room. Each supplier has a table. Buyers and suppliers are free to meet delegates that they did not have pre-booked on their schedules.

A Review of HOTEC Europe 2005

October 5-8 marked the seventh European HOTEC event; it brought together buyers and suppliers in an innovative three-day program of one-to-one meetings, allowing delegates to talk business and network with their peers in a way that is simply not possible with traditional trade shows and conferences.

This year's event hosted 90 key companies covering over 26 product categories. Seventy buyers from all facets and areas of hospitality sat for 20 minutes with each requested product supplier gaining insight and sharing knowledge. Each day was planned in a way that allowed attendees to meet, either through arranged meetings or through some of the special team building activities and meals.

HOTEC Seminar Programme

HOTEC Europe brings together some of the most powerful industry leaders to discuss and debate some of the key issues affecting the European hotel industry.

At HOTEC 2005 in Budapest, the seminar gave an insight into the International Procurement strategies used by Stephane Masson, Vice President International Procurement for Marriott International and Thierry Levasseur, Procurement Director for Hilton Europe. Both speakers gave invaluable information on the procedures used within their companies’ in selecting supplier companies and also detailed the evaluation process they go through when selecting supplier products.

The programme for next year will be announced early 2006.
